Health Officials report improved water quality for Don Pedro Island

Port Charlotte, Fla. — A beach advisory that has been in place at Don Pedro Island since Thursday, August 23 has been lifted today. Florida Department of Health in Charlotte County officials received testing results that contained no detectable enterococcus bacteria.

The beach advisory signage related to bacteria levels at Don Pedro Island have been removed.

The Florida Department of Health in Charlotte County monitors water quality regularly at 10 sites along the coastline. The intent of this program is to provide county residents and visitors with accurate, up-to-date information on the water quality at our beaches. Click here for beach water testing results.
