DOH-Charlotte Hosts Child Safety and Wellness Workshops

The Florida Department of Health in Charlotte County invites parents, expecting parents, grandparents, legal guardians, and caretakers to attend the Child Safety and Wellness Workshops through Thursday, February 12, 2026.

Charlotte County, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health in Charlotte County (DOH-Charlotte) invites parents, expecting parents, grandparents, legal guardians, and caretakers to attend the Child Safety and Wellness Workshops through Thursday, February 12, 2026.

The workshops will be held January 22, February 5, and February 12 from 3:30 – 5 p.m. at:

Ann and Chuck Dever Regional Park Recreation Center
6961 San Casa Drive
Englewood, FL 34224

The workshops will also be held online January 13, January 27, and February 10 from 6 – 7 p.m.

Free pack and plays and car seats are available for participants who need them as supplies last. Car seats are subject to meeting qualifying criteria and household income. Online participants must call DOH-Charlotte at 941-624-7200 to inquire about these safety items.

Participants will have the opportunity learn about:

  • Kids and Cars Child Passenger Safety: Child passenger safety technicians will be available to check if car seats are installed properly.
  • Pool/Water Safety: Outdoor and water activities are common, exciting, and year-round in Florida. Be prepared with simple safety tips regarding these activities.
  • Nutrition: Get the information you need to create a healthy eating and physical activity environment for your family.
  • Sleeping Safely: Learn the importance of safe sleeping practices for infants.
