The Florida Department of Health in Charlotte County’s (DOH-Charlotte) Emergency Preparedness and Response Program is actively involved in planning and responding to the community’s public health needs during an emergency or disaster.
DOH-Charlotte works closely with hospitals, medical providers, first responders (emergency medical services, fire and rescue, emergency management agencies, and law enforcement), and other community partners to coordinate health and medical responses.
The priorities of the program are to help provide essential medical and public health services following a disaster and meet emergency needs of the affected population.
