Mammogram Bus at DOH-Charlotte

Charlotte County, Fla.— The Florida Department of Health in Charlotte County (DOH-Charlotte) will be hosting the Florida Breast and Cervical Cancer Mammogram Bus from 1 p.m. - 5 p.m. on January 19, 2024.

Eligible patients will have access to services including breast and cervical cancer screenings, mammograms, pap smears, clinical breast exams, and diagnostic exams as needed. Walk-ins are welcome.


Eligibility Requirements:

  • Women who are 50-64 years of age.
  • Household income that is less than or equal to 200% to the federal poverty guidelines.
  • Has not had a mammogram in the past year.
  • No breast symptoms (e.g. pain, discharge, lump).
  • Has no health insurance or insurance will not cover the cost of clinical breast exams, mammogram or pap smear.
  • Or have one of the following risk factors:
    • Aged 40-49 and have Black, Latino, American Indian, or Asian ancestry.
    • Aged 40-49 and have a parent, sister, brother, or child that's had breast cancer.
Mammography is the single most effective method of early detection, since it can identify cancer several years before physical symptoms develop. Detecting and treating cancer early is important. It can be the difference between life and death.
