The Florida Department of Health in Charlotte County must approve septic tanks serving Charlotte County for buildings located in industrial/manufacturing zones or used for these purposes (or an equivalent use) before they can be occupied.
- The person or entity who owns or operates the facility must complete and submit the Application for Onsite Sewage Treatment and Disposal System Operating Permit (DEP 4081), accompanied by a $150 annual fee.
- A business proposing to occupy a building with a current operating permit must submit a Business Survey (DEP 4081A), along with a $50 amendment fee.
