The Florida Department of Health in Charlotte County must approve septic tanks serving Charlotte County for buildings located in industrial/manufacturing zones or used for these purposes (or an equivalent use) before they can be occupied.
- The person or entity who owns or operates the facility must complete and submit the Application for Onsite Sewage Treatment and Disposal System Operating Permit (DEP 4081), accompanied by an annual fee.
- A business proposing to occupy a building with a current operating permit must submit a Business Survey (DEP 4081A), along with an amendment fee.
